The club first performed Kuroda Ningyo in All-Japan High school Cultural Festival in Nagano in 2018, when its puppet show division was held in Iida Girls’ High school and so the club did some management of the festival as well as its own performance.
Kuroda Ningyo is on the list of Intangible Cultural Properties designated by the National Government and its puppets are manipulated by three puppet masters. It was first introduced by a priest named Shokaku Shinkai to young people in the region in Genroku Era, late17th century. Since then, people have tried to improve their skills by inviting great masters from Osaka or Awaji, where Ningyo Joruri flourished, and the theater has been handed down to this day.
